Servers and associated hardware can use a lot of electricity and generate lots of heat, so what can we do about it ? At Myhost.ie we have taken several steps to help reduce energy consumption and offset our carbon footprint.

Power efficient servers

Myhost uses the latest energy efficient Intel Xeon servers which have low voltage processors, motherboards and memory, meaning they consume less power and generate less heat then previous server models typically used in the past.

Greener energy

Ireland is a windy country, one of the windiest countries in Europe. We utilise energy providers that harness this natural resource and convert it into electricity which is sustainable and does not have an ongoing negative impact on the environment.

Carbon offsetting

We have partnered with the Tree Council of Ireland and made a commitment to plant a tree for every new server we install in our racks. We will even plant a tree in your name and send you out a nice shiney certificate if you buy a dedicated server from us or put your own server in our racks. How cool is that ?
