About Drupal

Founded by Belgian computer scientist Dries Buytaert, in 2001, as a social tool to keep in touch with university friends, the software and its supporting community has grown extensively over the years. Drupal is free, as is the case with other open-source blogging and content management systems such as WordPress and Joomla.

Drupal allows for extensive flexibility and scaleability in customising a content management system. All code is openly available and contributed to by Drupal developers worldwide.

A German company claiming to be Internet Register Ireland has been doing the rounds again the last few weeks sending letters to some of our customers, including ourselves. The letter which is very professional looking offers the recipient an opportunity to join their database of businesses. Sounds good ?

The problem is the small print. On reading this you will see that they charge €958 per year to be listed. Our advice if you get one of these letters is to throw it in the bin .

If you have signed and sent off the letter, contact your solicitor and make sure legally they cannot pursue you for the money. A sample of the letter is shown below.
