Spoof UPS Emails

Written by Martin - Comments (0)

From time to time, all of us are subjected to spoofed emails claiming to be from our Bank or Phone company, asking us to open a link or click on an attachment. The latest one doing the rounds over the last few weeks claims to be from UPS (United Parcel Service) , explaining that they have a package for you but cannot deliver due to incorrect address details .

The email contains a zip file which contains a Virus. Do not open this file. Delete the email immediately from your inbox and from your deleted items folder (just in case). If you do open the attachment, make sure you run a virus scan on your PC . As always , make sure your virus prevention software is up to date with the latest virus definitions and even more importantly , make sure your using decent virus protection.

Here is what the body of the email looks like:

Dear customer!

Unfortunately we were not able to deliver the postal package which was sent on the 20th of June in time
because the addressee’s address is incorrect.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office.

United Parcel Service of America.
